1610 Dorchester Sports Centre Community Pitch Advertising Opportunity

Around Dorchester and surrounding areas advertising spaces and opportunities are limited when considering local advertising standards.

Currently Dorset Council do not offer new opportunities for boundary signage sponsorship, bus stop advertising or many other forms of opportunities suggested on their website, the remaining available opportunities remain expensive to the sponsor (as of 23rd May 2025).

The Artificial Grass Pitch at Dorchester Sports Centre is the home training ground to hundreds of local players in a multitude of local, community teams from Dorchester and surrounding towns and villages, including youth, adult and concession teams.

The Pitch currently welcomes eighteen teams, with on average fifty-two hours of hire a week, as well as being a host for many full pitch games with the assurance of an all-weather pitch.

Annual advertising package (12 months)

Advertising boards are 10ft x 3ft and to be situated on the inside perimeter of the Artificial Grass Pitch.

A recent report by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Swimming has identified that attainment levels in school swimming is likley to drop as a result of the Covid 19 Pandemic. The report estimates that if there are no additional interventions the number of children able to swim 25m in year 7 will drop from 77% to 43% by 2025/26.

At 1610 we recognise that with an expectation from the Government for schools to teach an ambitious and broad curriculum in all subjects there will be pressures on schools to boost attainment across a range of subjects.

1610 want to help by offering a new 'After School Swim Club product' for schools.

These sessions will

• run approx 3 - 4pm in the afternoon
• Be heavily discounted to make them accessible for schools to access
• be aimed at pupils not yet achieving the minimum outcomes for swimming as set out in the national curriculum

The benefits for schools are:

1. The PE and School Sport Premium funding can be used for these sessions so shouldn't impact on the main school budget
2. The sessions increase the likelihood of pupils achieving the National Curriculum outcomes
3. These sessions significantly reduce the impact on school time allowing more time to teach other subjects
