From GP Referral and specialist classes to health walks we're here to support you every step of the way. 

At 1610, we aim to provide opportunities which everyone in the community can enjoy, and we understand that you may feel awkward about trying something new, or have decided that an active lifestyle is a secret code for exercise and fitness.

We have a variety of activities at our centre’s and within the community. If you think we could be doing something different, why not let us know.

Wellness Works

If your Doctor or health professional feels that physical activity can help with a health condition they can refer you. You can also refer yourself to 1610’s Wellness Works scheme if you have any existing medical or health condition, or even if you just need some extra support, guidance or motivation. Wellness Works membership gives you full access to Centre facilities from
opening to 5pm, and throughout the weekends. Our Exercise referral gym staff will work closely to ensure you receive the best possible exercise prescription for you, which includes all Group Exercise Classes, Swim Sessions where applicable and use of our Fitness Suite. All this from just £23 per month!

Health Walks 

1610 our offering a range of excellent Health Walks events throughout the summer to encourage more people to get up and active in the great outdoors. There are a number of reasons why walking is so great, firstly it's suitable for people of all ages and abilities, it gets you out and about in the fresh air and it's FREE.  

The walks we have on offer include:

  • Family & Beginners Orienteering
  • Nordic Walking
  • Intermediate and Advanced Walks

Specialist Classes

At 1610 we provide a variety of specialist activities including Staying Steady, Staying Strong, Exercise Referrals and Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, some of which are recommended by a health professionals.
