A Wellness Coach from 1610 Chard Vicki Stanners will be testing her own fitness to the limit this October when she joins forces with her father Steven to cycle nine hundred and fifty- seven miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for the charity Help for Heroes.

 Vicki will be taking on the cycling challenge (from Monday October 1st) with her 52- year- old father Steven and the pair aim to raise two thousand pounds for the charity. They chose Help for Heroes as their designated charity as they have a number of friends and family members who are involved with the armed forces.

Vicki’s father Steven, who lives in Beaminster in Dorset has been training separately from his daughter but Vicki is confident that they will both be a huge support for one another through this gruelling challenge;

‘I have a good level of fitness because of my job as a coach at 1610 Chard but I have been training around Chard out on my road bike. My Dad has been preparing for the trip by taking part in spinning sessions. He has always been a great support to me throughout my life and I think we will help each other out when the it gets really tough, with tired legs and wet weather.  Hopefully we will inspire others to take up their own fitness challenges as well as raising a lot of money for a fantastic charity.’
