The Brownlee Brothers, Alistair and Jonny and fellow Yorkshireman Gordon Benson will all be aiming for Gold in the Olympic Triathlon at Fort Copacabana in Rio later this week. The trio will be prove to be an incredible inspiration for the many Triathletes who will be training for the Dorchester ‘Dash’ Triathlon which takes place on Sunday August 28 (8am-12pm).

The Dorchester ‘Dash’ Triathlon begins almost a week after the Olympics closing ceremony in Rio and the feel good factor of the Games will hopefully encourage many future Olympic hopefuls to take on this very exciting and challenging sport at local endurance events such as the Dorchester Dash!

The Dorchester ‘Dash’ Triathlon will take competitors through the stunning and historic setting of the Dorset countryside. Starting at the Centre's indoor 25m pool, participants have to take on a 400m (16 length) swim which will be followed by a 24km scenic bike course which exits Dorchester via Poundbury and takes them to the summit of the climb of the historic Hardy's Monument. Returning to the Sports Centre, competitors then finally tackle the 5km run route which visits Maiden Castle, an Iron Age Hill Fort.

Now in its fourth year the Dorchester “Dash” Triathlon is a novice friendly event but it inspires all those taking part whatever their ability because of the unique route which offers competitors breath taking views through a landscape with a fascinating and ancient past.  Competitors can enter the event as part of a relay team as well as an individual competitor.

Based at Dorchester Sports Centre on the Thomas Hardye School site the centre offers those taking part in the race, refreshments as well as use of the swimming pool, changing-rooms, toilets and showers.
