Around 300 runners are expected to take part in the 1610 Chard Chaser 10k on Sunday September 10 which could be another sell out event in only its second year of operation.

The Chard Chaser 10k proved to be a highly successful event when it was launched last year with 255 runners participating in the race so now entries have been increased to meet demand and organisers 1610 leisure trust expect the event to sell out again this year.

The race which is a one-lap route starts from the new 1610 gym at Jarman Way in Chard and then continues onto country roads and rough tracks through Cuttiford’s Door and Chardleigh Green. The course profile has an undulating gradient with some challenging hills. Scenic views of the countryside and Blackdown Hills add to the attraction of this event which has become so popular on the South West racing circuit.

The race which starts at 10am has a very welcoming atmosphere especially for first time runners and walkers are also welcome. (9am start)
