Hinkley Point C Fun Run 2017
If you’re looking for your next challenge and want to raise money for a worthwhile charity, the Hinkley Point C Fun Run on Thursday 27 July 2017 could be your perfect opportunity!
We have two routes covering both a 5km and 10km distance. If you don’t want to run, but would rather walk, you can take part in the 5km route.
Both routes will start and finish from the Common just opposite the Anchor Inn in Combwich. The 10km run will kick off at 17:45 followed by the 5km walk and run at 18:00. Both routes incorporate some of the local Steart Marshes Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust route.
Buses will be provided to Combwich from HPC and from Combwich to Quantock Lakes Park and Ride and Junction 24 Park and Ride. There is a small car park available at the Combwich pub, however those taking part are encouraged to use the park and rides on the day.
This year we’ll be raising money for Breast Cancer Now and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust whose land we will be using as part of the route. Fundraising will provide vital money for research in to breast cancer and conservation fund money for the local Steart Marshes wetlands area. Runners and walkers are asked to donate towards the charities on the day via the charity fundraising buckets, with a minimum donation suggestion of £10.
Once the run is finished there will be a barbeque, raffle and prize giving ceremony at the Anchor Inn. Prizes are awarded for a variety of categories – including fancy dress. The after event will be open to everyone, so make sure you come along with your families and cheer the runners and walkers across the finish line!
The run is open to everyone working on the Project as well as any immediate family members.
To run the event we need as many marshals from across the project to step up and help man the route on the day. If you’d like to get involved in this year’s fun run and become a marshal please let Amy Prole (firstname.lastname@example.org) know as soon as possible.
In order to take part you need to register before Friday 14 July. Bookings are now closed.
